Holiday in Paradise
Waterfront in West Palm Beach
Sand is in the forecast—and lots of it—when you Holiday in Paradise.
West Palm Beach transforms into "Sandi Land" every holiday season, with the world’s only 35-foot-tall tree made from 700 tons of sand. Affectionately named Sandi and sculpted by a world-renowned group of sand sculptors, this famed holiday tree is strung with more than 5,000 real lights.
Be there for the magic moment when Sandi is lit on Dec. 5, 2019. The evening features a synchronized light and music spectacular with live entertainment by the Bay Kings Band to get you rockin' around the tree. While in Sandi Land, pop into Sandi's dressing room and snap a selfie with her. (Don't forget to tag #ThePalmBeaches when you share it with all your friends up north!)
You can also meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus, visit SnowieVille for face painting and other kids activities, purchase gifts for everyone on your list at the Holiday Boutique inside the Lake Pavilion, and play nine holes of Glow FORE It Mini Golf.
More to Do
Scheduled for the entire month of December, Holiday in Paradise coincides with the ever-popular Clematis by Night concert series, 6-9 p.m. on Thursdays, and the West Palm Beach GreenMarket, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Saturdays. And on Friday, Dec. 13, visit the waterfront for a night of family-friendly holiday films at Screen on the Green.
With all of this and so much more, you may never look at snow the same way again.
The Sport of Kings
If the characters from “The Crown” or “Downton Abbey” vacationed in the United States today, they most certainly would spend their days enjoying the one-of-a-kind festivities at the International Polo Club Palm Beach, where $10 tickets and field-side brunch are American traditions worth observing.
Today the world’s premier polo players and polo enthusiasts head to South Florida from January to April for top-level competition at the International Polo Club Palm Beach. The polo club in Wellington presents weekly and often daily events, including the U.S. Open Polo Championship, followed immediately by International Gay Polo Week April 7–9, 2019.
